Javea town is a small traditional Spanish
town set back about 1 mile from the sea, it
is a maze of small narrow streets and
alleyways with a mixture of old and new
shops, architecture and cultures. It has a
small museum which is well worth a visit.
The Port area nestles in the lea of a natural rock formation that is struggling to keep up with the modern pace of life and yet keep hold of its past heritage, there are some who want to extend the port / marina and others who believe it will spoil the natural habitat. The main holiday area runs from the Old Town and Port area in the east around a natural bay to the west, a distance of about three miles. Within this natural bay is the Aranal Beach which is the main point of focus for bars restaurants and nightlife. The beach is a perfect sandy bay that is ideal for children to play in safety with the added bonus that you don’t have far to go for refreshments.
The villa is a three double bedroom ( 1 x double and 4 x single beds ) villa with two bathrooms, kitchen, lounge / dining room, naya (covered verandah), roof terrace, patio, garden and last but not least a swimming pool. It is set in 1100 sq. meters of ground to the west of Jávea. The pool is maintained by a local company and we are looking to find someone to just keep the garden tidy. We have a friend that will take the sheets to the laundry and generally keep an eye on the villa, but we do expect that the villa is left in a clean and tidy state, suitable for the next visitors. Most things in the villa are available for you to use, provided that they are respected and anything broken is replaced. There should be tea, coffee, maybe milk bread for your use. Please replace what you use for the next visitors. You should not need to do anything to the pool apart from removing dead leaves and insects, as the pool man will come once or twice a week depending on the time of the year and how many people are in residence. The water out of the taps is as good as you will find anywhere in the EU and better than many locations, it is drawn from a mixture of bore holes and desalination plants so will have a relatively high level of mineral and lime scale. (we use the tap water for tea and coffee but bottled water for ice cubes). Market day is Thursday and has moved from the old town to an area between the port and the old town, you need to be fairly bright and early as it starts to wind up about 1 o’clock. Parking is a problem but you will always be able to find somewhere, this will be the case wherever you go at peek holiday times.
